Humanoid Makeup

Have you ever thought about the future and what things will look like? If I asked you to name 3 movies/video games/books about the future you’d probably be able to name them before you blinked.

And just a quick Google search will show you the technology that’s actually in our future.

Every new year makes me excited to see where technology will take us. So, this month I thought we’d try our hands at creating something futuristic. Futuristic and realistic. I’ll explain.

What is a Humanoid?

Let’s first understand the definition of a humanoid. The dictionary defines humanoid as some being, living or otherwise, that resembles a human. Big Foot is a humanoid.

Frankenstein is a humanoid. Aliens can be humanoid. But, what comes up most when you search humanoid is robots.

In fact, I found more references to robots or some sort of artificial intelligence than any other kind of humanoid.

So, let’s tackle this thing called a humanoid. I think the definition is wide open, and we can get creati

ve makeup and tell the story of a futuristic creature resembling a human.

So, how do we create a humanoid makeup?

For this makeup I thought of creating an irridecent look resembling plastic or metal. I thought of incorporating jewelry or some sort of emblem branding me a humanoid. I wanted to create something less robot and more human.

(I think robot deserves it’s own month.)

Tutorials

I tried to find tutorials that were close to a human with elements of alien, futuristic, and robotic. We’ll really be exercising our creative muscles with this look!

This first tutorial really said humanoid to me with other elements. What do you think?

I definitely think one of the eye looks in this next tutorial would work perfectly. And the tutorial is done so well.

Recommended Products

Here are a few of the products that can get you started making a humanoid makeup. These are products I’ve used, and you’ll see some of these products in the “Humanoid” makeup effects subscription box.

I can’t WAIT to see what you come up with if you try out this look. What do you think makes a futuristic humanoid makeup?
