This is your guide to makeup effects education.

MFX Workshop

About This Resource

This extensive list of makeup schools is made up of courses large and small and located all over the world. To make it on this list the special effects makeup school had to follow the following criteria:

  • Must have courses in prosthetics, character makeup, transforming techniques, or anything that was outside of beauty makeup.
  • Must include courses in injury makeup.
  • If there are no injury courses then they must have some other lesson in FX (i.e. prop making, mask making, animatronics, etc.)

Things you should know...

You will find that some of the special effects makeup schools have beauty courses as well as courses in FX. What you won’t find here are schools that do not include FX courses.

Information can change without notice, tuition fees can adjust, and offers can vary from the time this is produced. For that reason, I cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies. I encourage you to do your own research on the special effects makeup school of your choice and verify the information.
